The 2008 Undrafted All-Stars

Let's create a fantasy team entirely from undrafted players.  For our purposes, let's say anyone drafted 277th or later on average in March.  If nothing else, this shows the extreme importance of free agency in fantasy leagues.  How many of these guys are on your team?  If anyone wants to tabulate these players' stats at the end of the season, I'd be curious to see how the team stacks up in my leagues.

I know that team is better than most of mine.

the only flaw that team has is speed

i enjoyed this as a always put together such a list for the league i do with my college buddies...
this is definitely one of the better year for an all-undrafted team..
other guys that could be considered are Schoppach and Ianetta, Cantu, Danks, and in some smaller leagues, guys like Youkilis, McClouth and Milton Bradley might not have been drafted either

Not to brag, but...

On my team, I have...
Doumit
Derosa
A. Ramirez
Mora
Lee
Duchscherer
Torres
Fuentes

And I have traded away...
C. Jackson
Bradley

So I would say, yes, paying attention to free agents is important, and it is probably why I am in a solid first place right now.

Roto Leagues that use both the American and National leagues are always going to have a lengthy list of non-drafted "good" players; it's the nature of the beast when the talent pool is that deep.

20 teamer = 380 players drafted, only Alexei went undrafted out the gates (wasn't in the player pool yet). Fuentes and Torres were dropped at certain points, and readded by other teams (I got Torres, who has saved the Save stat for me since Percival stopped being good).

Some of these guys were drafted in our first 10 rounds (Doumit was an 11th rounder, and I kicked myself for not taking him first, despite already having Soto).

Chris W - bragging, no doubt about it.

And yes, if you play with 20 teams, there won't be many undrafted... then again, that's far from the standard so who cares?

To each his own I guess...some love a nice deep free agent pool and unlimited transactions. Others limit transactions severely as well as the size of the FA pool.

really someone played in a league in which Kerry Wood wasn't drafted? In all of my leagues, people grabbed him and Marmol due to the conflicting stories out there .
.
I've got Doumit, Quentin, and Santana in my league. Was also able to include Bradley in a package for K-Rod a few weeks before the trade deadline.

1135 Runs
287 Home Runs
1156 RBIs
108 SBs
.299 AVG
110 Wins
92 Saves
1275 Strikeouts
3.09 ERA
1.16 WHIP

Wow.
