WEDNESDAY: The Washington Post says Hanrahan will get first crack. He's got a fine K/9 of 9.86, but has shown poor control with a 4.85 BB/9. The walks have come down a bit lately; he's worth owning in all leagues.
TUESDAY: Jon Rauch has been traded to the D'Backs. Who closes for the Nationals now?
This should come down to Saul Rivera and Joel Hanrahan. Both righties have been solid this month. Hanrahan has the higher strikeout rate; Rivera the superior control.
Hard to say which guy gets it - pick up both if you can. Otherwise lean toward Hanrahan. An interesting dark horse would be Jason Bergmann, but he's set to start.

Hanrahan obviously the better pick. Also, he is a righty.
Rauch will not close in AZ.

Yes Hanrahan being righty kind of made me have to redo the post.

Bowden said in the game telecast lat night it would be Hanrahan.

Tim:
I do find it disturbing that you changed your original post, rather than just add an adendum at the end of it. You clearly recommended A different guy other than Haranan. Everyone here is willing to accept mistakes from you, but we want honesty, which leads to credibility. Don't ruin the trust by covering up mistakes.

Get over yourself, Bigdawg. Most people probably didn't even see the original post. This is a fantasy baseball blog, not an ethics committee hearing. Give him a break.

For those of us who poach closers-in-waiting around the trade deadline, who gets the ball in the ninth if Huston Street gets sent packing? Casilla, Devine, Embree...?

P.Pat:
Dude, I am a huge Dierkes fan, first of all. But I think anyone who read the orig post would be a little put off by the re-write of history. I do not think it matters how many people have read the original post.
My guess is that Tim sides with me on this one.

Tim could you do a piece on Ian Stewart? what do you see him doing the rest of the 2nd half? Do you think he has potential to out perform giambi

To me that is just editing...I recommended Rivera based on thinking Hanrahan was left-handed, then changed it once I realized my mistake. I do it on both my blogs all the time. If I was trying to be deceptive why would I leave up the comment about redoing the post?

This sucks for all the Jon Rauch owners.
